Strongdor is dedicated to shining the light on their hard-working team who help keep the company known for impeccable customer service. In this article, we hear Dave’s insights into what it’s really like working for Strongdor.
What is your role at Strongdor?
"I first started my journey with Strongdor just over 6 years ago as a member of the build team. Checking, building, and packaging orders ready for dispatch. Within my first 2 years, I transitioned my role to the transport department, having previously come from a transport background where I worked in multiple departments at various levels for a large logistics company.
Now working as the transport manager, my role covers everything from ensuring the day-to-day runs as smoothly as possible, arranging imports and exports, and liaising with our haulage partners to ensure customers get their delivers as expected and within industry-beating lead times. As well as ensuring I keep my colleague Jenny on her toes and having a laugh along the way!"
What do you love about working for Strongdor?
"I love that it is still a family-driven and friendly place to work and that I get the chance to build relationships with our customers, given that I speak to most of them every day, it’s great! I also like the company get-togethers where we can celebrate our achievements and of course, when the celebrations include food!"
How long have you worked at Strongdor?
"Just over 6 years and 1 month, I think!"
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
"This is a really good question, I don’t think I have ever thought of this before! I have a shooting and archery license through my time in the scouts, but if anything I’d love to learn how to operate a drone properly."
What's something most people don't know about you?
"I’m a big Lord Of The Rings & Hobbit fan to the point where I have limited edition merchandise from the franchise. I also enjoy collecting coins, modern picture-backed 50p & £2’s, if anyone has any let me know!"
What's your favourite motto/quote?
"Grand as thought & happy days!"
